HOW DO I SIGN UP?
You are responsible for booking your own schedule and we make it mighty easy through our online scheduling software. When you have created an account, you can reserve your classes or workshops through our live schedule. That schedule will tell you who’s teaching, at what time, what kind of class or workshop it is and how many spots are open. Classes can be booked up to 30 days in advance.

DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER OR CAN I DROP IN FOR CLASS?
Preregistration is preferred for all of our classes and required for our workshops. This is to ensure that the class is NOT full when you get to the studio. CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT with us by visiting our Punchpass site. From there select the class you wish to attend and purchase a single class pass, multiple class pass or membership.

It is recommended students sign up at least 24 hours in advance for each class.

CAN I ADD MY FRIEND TO MY PUNCHPASS ACCOUNT?
No, each individual needs to have their own personal account in our Punchpass system. 

DO I NEED TO PAY IN ADVANCE?
Please register and pay in advance online for all classes. Classes fill up quickly at Fort Smith Aerial Fitness, so you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to the class you would like to attend, to ensure your spot in class. Drop-ins are welcome, but if the class is full, you will not be able to attend.

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED?
CREDIT CARDS (AMEX, MasterCard, Discover & Visa) or CASH.

WHO ALL COMES TO YOUR CLASSES?
We have students of all sizes, ages, genders, strength levels and dance backgrounds who participate in our classes. We welcome male students, though some workshops may be limited to female attendees only. If a participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to fill out the liability waiver. This waiver can be emailed to you or picked up at the studio.

CAN I COME WATCH A CLASS? CAN MY HUSBAND COME WATCH A CLASS?
For the comfort of our students, the studio is closed to all nonparticipants. We do not allow spectators during our weekly classes or workshops, but if you would like to bring in guests we welcome you to rent studio time for your own private event!

WHAT CLASS SHOULD I COME TO FIRST? 
Intro to Pole will be your first step to begin your Pole journey. 
Intro to Aerial will be your first step to begin your Aerial journey. 

I HAVE TAKEN POLE PREVIOUSLY, WHAT CLASS DO I COME TO?
Contact MaeLeigh at 501-760-8302 and you both can discuss what class would be best for you to start with Fort Smith Aerial Fitness. 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
No metal hand jewelry. Avoid applying lotion for 24 hours prior to class - oil and metal don't mix!

  • You should wear form fitted pole/yoga shorts and a tank top. Sports Bras are recommended for protection and support. We need to have a lot of skin exposed, as you need to stick to the pole. Fabric will slide right off the pole, giving you no grip.

  • Kristi's recommendations to add to your studio bag: Knee pads, leg warmers & socks. 

  • *Under garments are not appropriate attire and you will not be allowed to participate if wearing only under garments

  • We encourage students to wear clothing that covers the backs of their knees and torso for all aerial classes, other than pole. This will help avoiding burns caused by friction with the fabric or hoop.


WHAT IF I SHOW UP LATE? CAN I STILL JOIN THE CLASS?
You are required to show up at least 5 min ahead of class, as we have a strict no late entry policy. Be here early enough to change and be ready to start class on time, or you will not be let in and will not be refunded for the class you missed.

DO I NEED A DANCE BACKGROUND?
No you don’t. You will learn everything you need to know at our classes.

IS EVERYONE YOUNG AND FIT?
There are young and mature students that enjoy Pole & Aerial Fitness. Age is irrelevant and we have seen that weight is irrelevant. The most important thing is to be able to enjoy our classes is determination. Determination is the only thing that will separate you from another student. We have 50 year old mothers who perform better than their daughters. You will be amazed at what you can do with determination! 

I HAVE NO UPPER BODY STRENGTH, WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?
It is not a problem. We will teach you everything you need to know on how to become stronger in your upper body, core and all over body fitness. Pole & Aerial is unlike any other fitness regime. We all start at the same level and increase from there. We have students of all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness level walk through our studio doors.  Even those with a background in fitness will feel awkward and a little shy or embarrassed when they begin their journey with us.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO GET GOOD AT POLE DANCING?
It depends on what you want to learn and how good you want to get. Pole Fitness enthusiasts often have different goals. Some like tricks, the others the dance. You will start to feel fairly accomplished in 5-6 classes in most cases. We recommend giving yourself about 6 months to assess how far you have come. You might be surprised what you can accomplish in a short time, and have lots of fun doing it.

SHOULD I BRING MY HIGH HEELS TO POLE CLASSES?
Heels are not required, especially for those of you with no pole dance experience. You will work your way up to adding the weight of the heels to your workout if you would like to use them later on. Heels look great but make it harder initially. Street shoes are not allowed; you will be allowed to wear only heels that have a proper rubber bottom, as they are safer and appropriate for this workout. Regular high heels are not allowed.

ARE POLE & AERIAL CLASSES OPEN FOR ANY LEVEL?
Some classes on the schedule welcome all levels, other classes are clearly marked as ALL LEVELS, LEVEL 1-LEVEL 5. If it doesn’t say a level, anyone can take that class.

IS THERE A CHANGING ROOM IN THE STUDIO? SHOWERS?
There is a changing area at the studio. There are NO showers on the premises.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
You should NOT wear ANY lotion on your hands and legs the day of POLE FITNESS class. Sweating will release the lotion back to the surface, and you will be sliding off the pole.
Leave your jewelry at home it could cause damage to our apparatuses and you will be held responsible. You will not be allowed to wear it in any of the aerial classes, pole, silks or hoop.

ARE THERE MEN IN THESE CLASSES?
You may be surprised to find that men are becoming a more common sight in Pole & Aerial Fitness. Almost all competitions now offer a men’s division. Men are allowed to take our program. If you are uncomfortable with a gentleman being in your class, just contact MaeLeigh and she will let you know if a man is scheduled in your class that day. Men are also welcomed at all parties, group lessons and private events.

WILL I HAVE TO SHARE A POLE OR APPARATUS?
Class sizes range from 3-15, depending on the class. Aerial classes have no more than 2 persons per apparatuses. The International Pole Sport Federation standard for students sharing poles is up to 3 students per pole. At Fort Smith Aerial Fitness, you will almost never have to share a pole! If you do have to share, it will be with only one other person. We have 6 Poles at our studio.


IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT FOR POLE AERIAL CLASSES?
Our studio has 6 silks and they are reinforced and are rated to hold up to 350 pounds.
